12 hours on the job

Today was an exhausting, but very productive day in the newsroom.  We spent our time learning about different cameras and were actually able to use our new skills to take pictures and record videos.  We were also split up into teams to complete assignments with, for the remainder of the week.  My team named ourselves “MADES” which is an acronym of all of our first names.  Our first small assignment as a team was to go outside to the campus and record sequences of whatever caught our eyes.  We decided to make a sequence of the film festival at SBU that is happening this week.  By 9 p.m. everyone was struggling to keep their eyes open as we uploaded the sequences to our computers.  When we finally heard that we were going back to the dorms, we hurried out of the newsroom.

Spending that much time learning and working in the newsroom, gave us all a lot of valuable experience specifically with cameras.  Although we were excited to get to go to sleep,  today was really interesting and very fun!
