Moving In; From Brooklyn to Long Island

I already feel comfortable as I lie in bed typing this. Having moved in just a couple of hours ago into Irving College, I have had nothing short of a great experience so far. I’ve already bonded with my roommate enough to know that I won’t be lonely this week.

We have a lot in common, one of which includes being the only people in the program from the city. So don’t be discouraged if you aren’t from Long Island. There’s hope.

This isn’t my first time staying at a residence hall, but it will be my longest stay yet. And it was definitely a long way to get here, too. I took three trains and a bus from Brooklyn to get to Stony Brook. I should get a medal.

I got here two hours earlier than I should have and was the first to check in. Yes, I was excited, but I actually got here that early due to the LIRR’s convenient¬†weekend service.

After settling in and sitting through the orientation and first lesson, I can’t wait to see what this week has to offer.
¬†This is what I call “settling in.”

Now I’m off to bed; it has been an eventful day, and I should reenergize for our press conference tomorrow.
